CONVINCE is well named in a bad race and he has done enough to convince us to side with him rather than likely market rivals Outer Hebrides and Running Flush. The eight-year-old faced a difficult task at York last time out but he ran creditably enough on balance and with no superstars lurking in the wings this afternoon, we take him to give a good account of himself amongst this weaker level of opposition. Outer Hebrides was all out to take a similar event over course and distance. The handicapper has had plenty of chance to take a look at him and this penalty regrettably could make a follow up beyond him. Running Flush is very interesting on handicap debut. Five furlongs looked sharp enough last time and Jeremy Gask is still sending out the winners. Captain Kallis won his maiden on Southwell's fibresand. Connections will be desperate for rain ahead of today's meeting. Clear Hand has shown little of note though his yard had their first winner for quite some time so the market should be monitored closely. Street Diva has been big odds on two starts post her time with Paul Blockley. A moderate handicap for modest horses but Convince has shown ability in better grade and that is enough to steer him to our attention.
