Verdict

BETONY showed improvement from his debut and is taken to break his maiden tag at the expense of Primaeval and Burma Rock. The selection caught the eye at Yarmouth when finishing second to Laafet. He looks the most progressive horse in the race and if he can handle the soft ground conditions he will take all the beating. Primaeaval ran well on his debut at Doncaster finishing second to Dukes Art. He ought to improve for the experience and with Jamie Spencer booked to ride he should be added to the short list. Burma Rock has more experience than most with five runs under his belt. This does look like one of his easiest opportunities for some time so any market moves should be noted. Betony looks progressive and ought to be good enough to land this contest.
