In depth

Verdict

If the ground goes quick then Raccoon gets the confident nod but with rain forecast, I'm afraid we have to desert David Chapman's gelding and side with Ten Shun ahead of Jojesse. David Evans' gelding is effective on any ground and must be respected now dropped in grade. He was running well in average handicaps before a poor recent run at Yarmouth, and if the rain falls then he must go close as he does like to get his toe in. Seven No Trumps looks the pick of Milton Bradley's runners and should be respected, whilst Blackheath is getting a bit long in the tooth but still retains some ability. Jojesse couldn't take advantage of a drop in grade last time out and would want the sun to have his hat on; comments that also apply to Raccoon who is the best horse in the race but needs it quick. Northern Chorus could go well at a price if back on song, however Ten Shun can land these moderate spoils.
