        Verdict

This does not look to be the strongest of auction maiden races and looks to be between TASFEYA and Candys Girl, with preference for the former of the pair. Mark Johnston's colt gave every indication that he would improve for being stepped up in trip when making his debut at Newcastle last month and that showed to be the case when narrowly beaten over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton subsequently; he can gain a deserved success today. Piccoluck is becoming exposed and of more interest may be Sir Mark Prescott's Snow Ridge, who looks to be going the right way. The main threat to the selection though looks to be Michael Bell's Candys Girl, who has run well in all three outings so far in earning a rating of 77, but she is not certain to appreciate the step up from six furlongs and may have to settle for second best behind Tasfeya.
