The return to six furlongs should suit GO ALONE who is preferred to the consistent Raimond Ridge and Minturno. A winner at Redcar on his penultimate start, the selection evidently has no problem with quick ground and a quick track. The race at Newcastle last time over seven furlongs may not have been his cup of tea, and a better run is expected today off the same mark of 70. Raimond Ridge is yet to win in ten starts on turf and although he is fairly handicapped on his all-weather form, the feeling is that he is better on an artificial surface. Oriental Rose's form looks solid enough, as does that of Blue Boy Noodles who has been holding his form well since a Newcastle claiming win in May but he arguably struggles to get his head in front in handicaps. Minturno is another consistent sort on quick ground; the return to six furlongs is in his favour and he has a fair draw to work from. Real Diamond is well-held by Minturno on their last clash but he has a good course record whilst Lucky Buddha was well-fancied last time out but he let supporters down and is now winless in seven starts. An open heat, but the nomination is given to Go Alone.
