In depth

Verdict

Eliza May, Whiffle and Aahayson are the three that are tentattively proposed in this maiden where several are unraced, and debutant winner Eliza May is taken to come out on top. Karl Burke has a great strike rate at the moment with a quarter of his runners over the past fortnight reaching the winners' enclosure. He introduces Aahayson, a son of Noverre here, and he should have plenty of pace and can make an impression, although the market should be watched. A similar remark also applies to Mark Johnston's Whiffle, a daughter of Red Ransom out of a Mr Prospector mare. The stable has produced winning debutants this season and she must be respected. Eliza May made a winning debut at Thirsk, despite drifting in the market. This daughter of Kyllachy won in decisive fashion and although the second was well beaten in the Hillary Needler at Beverley, Eliza May can confirm her promise and take this.
