Probably not quite as competitive as the usual Carlisle Bell line up but still a fair few in with chances. Those include Daaweitza, Kasumi, Logsdail, Veiled Applause, Regent's Secret and Shot To Fame and we take Regent's Secret to score. Paul Hanagan gets the leg up from Jim Goldie on this seven-year-old who was a c&d winner last time out. He acts with cut in the ground and frankly he has the look of a horse plotted up to defy a 6lb penalty for that success and follow up. Daaweitza has not run badly on soft ground before and his pedigree suggests it should be no problem, so with good recent form also a plus he looks like running well. Kasumi is another who in theory should handle cut but has not proved she does just yet, while Logsdail can go on the ground and would want this to be a sitff test as one who has regularly contested races over further. As they will probably go lickety split he looks capable of running into a place. Veiled Applause may be more of a threat judged on a decent win at Windsor last time on good to soft, while Shot To Fame has finally begun to drop in the weights and can make an impact from today's mark if in the right mood. But Regent's Secret catches the eye of this judge and gets the vote.
