Verdict

Not a straightforward affair with most of the runners worth a look, but Star Lad is taken to land a deserved success. Placed plenty of times from today's - and higher - marks, the gelded son of Lake Coniston is taken to land his first win on turf. Stagnite has a similar profile while Alfred Sisley has failed to win since his rating was revised after his Warwick victory. Tuscan Treaty is now seven pounds higher than for her win in a Folkestone seller, so a bigger danger might come from Fine Frenzy. A winner over five furlongs as a two-year-old, John Hills' filly has been running over further of late and it would be no surprise if the step back in trip brought a better show.
