Tuscarora is well ahead of her rivals on official ratings and, with Kieren Fallon booked, is hard to oppose. Beaten a short head in each of her last two runs, a repetition of either run would be good enough. Each of her three wins have come at Lingfield on the all-weather but she should be ok at this venue. Of the others, Butrinto is capable of showing up at this level; Akebono was noted staying on at Leicester last time; Ardwelshin won twice in Ireland last year; Pierpoint has been placed over this course and distance from a higher mark last July; Shirley Oaks won a seller here from a higher mark last May (and holds Butrinto on that form), while Total Package is lightly raced and could be open to some improvement at this level. However, the obvious choice has to be Tuscarora.
