Bienheureux can land the day's feature event at the expense of Generous Lad, Transvestite and Ariodante. With what appears to be a good draw in stall three, Bienheureux is taken to follow up his recent success over the course-and-distance, with Hayley Turner on top for the first time. He goes on any ground, whereas last year's winner Ariodante found the rain-softened ground all against him when last of ten behind the selection. The latter has not won since capturing this prize 12-months ago, but has slipped to an attractive mark, and makes more appeal than last year's runner-up Transvestite who bounced back to form three weeks ago but who has to shoulder topweight today. A bigger danger may emerge in the shape of Generous Lad who caught the eye at Salisbury last time. He is not as well treated as Bienheureux though, and Gay Kelleway's six-year-old is the one to beat.
