Malaath can show enough improvement to see off the more experienced Perfect Treasure, with Tilsworth Charlie and Blue Bamboo the other main players. Malaath looked a filly to follow when making a winning debut in the Godolphin colours at Lingfield last October, but did not see the track again until encountering soft ground at Warwick in May. She looked in need of the run then and has since joined Ed Dunlop, for whom she makes her handicap bow today. The daughter of Green Desert appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to open her account, and she is preferred to Perfect Treasure. The latter goes well round here and ran another good race when staying on from the back for third on her latest visit three weeks ago. She has slid to a handy mark and looks sure to go well. Tilsworth Charlie ran a blinder from 4lb out of the weights at Yarmouth and will appreciate the faster ground here as well, while Blue Bamboo has lost her form lately but is dangerous to leave out. Malaath has more to offer than most though and gets the nod.
