Shotley Mac took advantage of a good draw when successful here earlier this month but the combination of a 5lb rise for that win and a low draw gives him more to do know and, along with Ours, he looks best watched with preference for Tough Love who gets the vote over Avontuur. The last mentioned was good value for his win at Carlisle over six furlongs last week but the step up to seven furlongs is of concern as he has yet to prove that he stays this far. Alan Swinbank's Zennerman is capable of taking a hand in the finish but has given little sign of encouragement for some time, while March Mate looks to be going the right way but remains a maiden after eight starts. The vote then goes to Tim Easterby's Tough Love, who showed improved form from his reappearance run when a close fourth behind Wahoo Sam at Nottingham last month and a reproduction of that effort may well suffice.
