Aspendale and Lighting Shadow look the most interesting of the three newcomers in this contest and have to be respected but it is hard to get away from Filigree Lace, who is taken to gain a deserved first success. The selection stepped up on the form shown on her belated debut as a two-year-old when running a close fourth at surprisingly big odds for a runner from Sir Michael Stoute's stable in a Windsor maiden. Granted further improvement, the daughter of Seeking The Gold should be too good for her rivals today. Marcus Tregoning's Wikaala has run well in both starts on the Polytrack at Lingfield and he looks to be the biggest danger to the selection on his turf debut. Offshore Anna would need to step up on the form shown on her debut at Pontefract in March but does represent an in-form yard so cannot be discounted. Mill Beattie gave little sign of encouragement first time up and a safer option looks to be Filigree Lace.
