This looks tight and is complicated by Ed Dunlop saddling two runners. Dark Red should be winning soon after just failing to get to Great Fun at Wetherby, when Samsonite had every chance in fourth, while Ejbaar made a reasonable debut at Wolverhampton and Dane O'Neill is on board again. Director looks as though he needs a stiff test of stamina and is likely to get it here but this can go to KAWAII. Phil McBride's charge attempted to make all at Wolverhampton on her return after a long absence and only succumbed in the closing stages. The winner has won a much better race subsequently so the form looks good enough for this. Thorkhill Star and Father Bertie have both done enough to warrant respect in a more open maiden than usual.
