    Verdict

Just one favourite has won this in 10 years. Amenable was successful in one of the divisions last year and though better over an extra furlong this stiff uphill climb is made for him and he ran a superb race at Thirsk on Saturday. Heroique is another who generally races over further though her recent second at Redcar was over this trip and she's dropped to a fair mark. THATCHERITE won over the track and trip off exactly the same mark in July and, with a very good run at Pontefract behind him, is taken to gain another success here. Armelle has never run over this trip but usually makes the running so she should have the pace to be prominent throughout.
