The ground should suit Clarinch Claymore, who is as tough as they come and can give weight and a beating of Moonshine Beach and Shotley Dancer, who make the most appeal as the pair to chase him home. Clarinch Claymore is holding his form well and has been an absolute credit to his connections over the years. He comfortably held Vicars Destiny over course and distance last month and again has the beating of that rival, in spite of the revised terms. Moonshine Beach has also been in good heart this season and is capable of going close. However, the underfoot conditions and strong pace may conspire against him today and he is passed over for selection. So too is Shotley Dancer, who despite handling the course, has a few questions regarding his stamina. Wing Collar is another that has a little to prove on that score and an improved performance is needed for him to reach the frame. Which brings us back to Clarinch Claymore, who is expected to be too resilient for this lot when push comes to shove.
