    Verdict

There is plenty more to come from Premier Rouge, who gets the nod over Aspired and Mambina today. Mith Hill, the only other runner in a disappointing turn out for the prize-money, could never get competitive on his debut and may need more time. Aspired ran well under tender handling at Windsor and should have learnt plenty from the experience, while Mambina heads them all on that score but has achieved little of note in her nine previous starts. Therefore, this looks to be an ideal opening for Premier Rouge, who showed enough progression in her two efforts for the late and great Alec Stewart to be given a confident vote to continue her progression now that Ed Vaughan (Stewart's former assistant) takes care of her well being.
