In depth

Verdict

The form horse here has to be Juantorena, who can beat the newcomer King's Kama and Fighting Tom Cat. Michael Bell's colt takes a big drop in class after contesting the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot. He put up a gallant performance there finishing a close up fourth behind Chateau Istana. and looks set to lose his maiden tag today. Sir Michael Stoute runs the debutante King's Kama, who is superbly bred by Giant's Causeway out of an Indian Ridge mare and this 350 thousand guinea purchase should be monitored closely in the betting market. Fighting Tom Cat hails from the mighty Godolphin camp and is certain to improve on his recent debut at Newmarket when well behind Camacho. This could turn out to be a decent contest and Juantorena has the class to take first prize.
