An ordinary claimer that can go to Flying Spud, who put in a solid performance here last time out and is preferred over Cayman Calypso and Erupt, who appeals as one that could go well for each-way players at a fair price. It would also be dangerous to write off Gem Bien, even though he has failed to beat a horse home in his last three outings. David Chapman's charge is already a dual course and distance winner and would not have much to find to bounce back in this sort of company. It is good to see Dee Pee Tee Cee back in action after a near two-year absence. The Mick Easterby-trained gelding has won plenty of races over the years and comes into the race owing nothing to anyone. However, like quite a few of the rest, there has to be the suspicion that this trip is now on the sharp side for him and, sentiment aside, others make far greater appeal. None more so than Flying Spud, who is still unexposed in comparison to the majority of today's rivals and has no doubts surrounding his ability to handle the ground over a trip that suits him ideally.
