LA CAPRIOSA is a proven performer at this level over this trip, and is taken to get the better of Sloop Johnb and Dispol Grand. Beaten into second place over six furlongs recently, the step down in trip is a positive for Alan McCabe's charge, who's shown to be equally effective on the turf as the all-weather. Two runs back she got the better of Dispol Grand over course and distance, although a swing in the weights may give supporters of the latter some encouragement. Sloop Johnb had his first run out for more than six months recently when second at Carlisle and should be all the better for that. The high draw will aid his cause. Red Rosanna would probably like a little cut in the ground, but she's Reg Hollinshead's only runner on the card. It looks a tight little contest, which we think can go the way of La Capriosa.
