Half the field here remain in maiden company, despite having raced enough to have a mark, but we'll side with experience here and go with PAPYRIAN ahead of Wilfred Pickles and Sahaal. Papyrian's been runner up on his last two outings, including in a handicap; blinkers brought about a little improvement last time out, and they stay on. If he's ever going to win, it'll be this sort of contest, especially as he looks well in at the weights. Wilfred Pickles was a good second in a decent handicap last time out following a little break. A similar sort of run from Amanda Perrett's only runner at the meeting could be enough. Sahaal has been showing improvement, and a slight step up in trip looks a positive. Jay Gee Wigmo is nought from 15, so it's hard to see much confidence there. Henry Candy's Bended Knee is the only debutant, and could be anything, so keep an eye on the market to see if she's being backed or swerved. It's a trappy little heat, in which we'll side with Papyrian.
