Bathwick Pursuit is surely better than he showed first time out at Stratford when pulled up but he is hard to back with any confidence and it is hard to get away from BARIZAN, who gets the vote with Gaily Noble rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was capable on the flat in Ireland but has shown improved form since being put over hurdles by Evan Williams, winning two of his three starts including in good fashion at Bangor last time and a reproduction of that form should see him win again. Tim Vaughan's Gulf President is one of several interesting hurdling newcomers in the field having shown some ability on the level for Mick Channon. Don McCain's Riptide showed a similar level of form to the last mentioned on the flat and makes more appeal than Tom George's Olofi, who is making his racecourse debut. Wolverhampton maiden winner Gaily Noble has struggled in handicaps on the flat for Andy Haynes of late but he is the highest rated of these on the level and has to be respected but Barizan has the proven form on the flat and over hurdles and he is preferred.
