In depth

Verdict

MUSIC SHOW won here on debut earlier in the month in a lowly maiden, but is capable of following that up here, and is selected to get the better of Ramamara and Soccer. Mick Channon's filly holds an entry for October's Cheveley Park Stakes; the low draw may help, but it's only a small field. Her win here over this trip was in a fairly modest maiden, but it was comfortable with her coming to the forefront in the final stages, and similar tactics which have often proved fruitful here may be used again. Ramamara is bottom weight, but not by much. She showed a little promise on a Chester debut and followed that up winning a weak Lingfield maiden on the Polytrack, but given the likely fast going here, there shouldn't be concerns about the ground. Soccer has by far the highest rating of the quartet to have a mark, and is joint top weight with Existentialist. Well down the field in the Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood, this is probably more his sort of level, although he's not kicked on since winning on debut in April. It's a slight step up in trip from what he's been used to, and that could be a positive for Tom Dascombe's only runner on the card. Existentialist and Avonvalley have run in better races than this, but shown little at a higher grade. The drop down in class could see them get involved. It looks a competitive little heat, with marginal preference for Music Show.
