JEWELLED is beginning to look like a course specialist and gets the vote from potential improver Spoken; Pelham Crescent could go well at big odds while Monashee Rock is another to factor in to calculations. John Hills' charge has course and distance form figures of 2-2-9-1-9-1, so whilst she has put in a couple of below-par efforts she's basically been reliable here. That was the case last time when the filly excellerated clear of a similar field despite perhaps not being suited by a lack of pace, so up 3lbs there's every chance Hayley Turner can guide her home in front once more. Spoken is one to watch closely in the market as his maiden win has worked out nicely and first-time cheek-pieces could see him return to that level of performance. Roger Charlton has an incredible 64% strike-rate with three-year-olds at the track and if money came for Spoken it'd pay to sit up and take notice. Pelham Crescent is interesting at potentially rewarding each-way odds as he's back down to his last winning mark, has conditions to suit and should be approaching peak fitness, whilst three of his career wins have been here. He might just need a couple of furlongs further but could run on into a place. Monashee Rock beat an in-form sort last time, proving in the process that she sees out a mile, but a 5lb rise appears plenty and she can be opposed in this contest. Very Well Red has won three times over course and distance, the most recent coming off 3lbs lower in May, so can't be ruled out having been given a month to freshen up while Shaded Edge hasn't yet won over this far and can be taken on with that in mind. Magroom and Bold Cross are closely matched course and distance winners but neither arrives in the best of form so our vote goes to Jewelled.
