Don McCain sets a poser by saddling both The Eens and Cornish Gale, with marginal preference of the two for the latter who may not be as good as he once was but should still be the better of the pair although a faster surface would be preferable and the vote instead goes to No Retreat. The selection will not mind the cut in the ground and ran up to his best form when chasing home Mister Friday at Cheltenham earlier this month when last seen. An Capall Dubh has to be respected on the pick of his form but may struggle to give weight away all round, while winning pointer Border Fusion ran with promise on his debut in this grade here last time and cannot be ruled out. Anshampshire is difficult to evaluate having only raced in point-to-points so far and a safer bet looks to be No Retreat, who is taken to resume winning ways.
