A market move for Martin Pipe's newcomer Lovers Lane, who is not necessarily ideally bred for this game would have to be of interest but Master Sam has already shown useful form and is taken to score from Master of The Ward. The last mentioned represents the stable of Ginger McCain that has done well with their bumper runners of late and the son of King Persian showed plenty of promise when finding just Sotovik too good in a Carlisle bumper last month. That form does not look to be as good as that shown by the selection when he finished third behind Portavadie at Haydock with some useful looking types behind. Peter Beaumont's Just My Pal is strictly held on running that day, although with only five lengths to find with Henry Daly's gelding cannot be discounted. Willy Furnley was highly tried on his debut behind Villon and may do better in this company but Master Sam has the best form on offer and it will take a good one to beat him.
