Verdict
With the Geoff Wragg yard already off the mark here on Thursday with Autumn Glory, hopes are high that Lochbuie can add to the tally, with Compton Bolter, Corriolanus and Counsel's Opinion expected to give him a race. Lochbuie also made his seasonal reappearance on Town Moor last term, finishing fourth in a mile-and-a-quarter handicap before gaining back-to-back victories when stepped up in trip at Chester and Salisbury. He also displayed abundant stamina when outbattling Yoshka over even further at Goodwood, and rounded off a successful campaign by finishing third in Listed company at Newmarket. All that suggests that as long as he is fit enough today, Lochbuie will take a hand, although he is likely to tackle longer trips again as the season progresses. Compton Bolter is already plenty fit enough but always seems to find one too good, while both Corriolanus and Counsel's Opinion were unlucky in running in the Winter Derby. The once useful Shabernak has a long absence to overcome or he would have been considered, and for the winner we return to Lochbuie.
