New Seeker has got the high draw that connections wished for, and this classy sort is taken to defy an absence to land the annual Town Moor puzzle, with Stream Of Gold and Blythe Knight big dangers; Divine Gift, Vortex and Resplendent One can prove best of those drawn low. As usual it will not do to be too confident in this cavalry charge, but this is just the sort of race in which New Seeker excels. The Clive Cox inmate beat a big field in the 2003 Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot and later added the Tote International to his portfolio. He has continued to race at a high level, including when fourth from stall one in the Buckingham Stakes Handicap, also at Royal Ascot 12 months later. He has only had three runs since then, including one in Group 3 company and his latest over an inadequate six furlongs in Ireland. He likes a straight track, has the draw he wants, is well handicapped on a mark of 100, and lines up on the back of a recent gallop at Lingfield that pleased his trainer no end. All in all, it will be a major surprise if New Seeker is not involved in the finish with so many thing going for him. Stream Of Gold is very lightly raced and could turn out to be Group class this season. He has gone up from a rating of 87 to 98 after hacking up at Newmarket on his final start last term, but is another that has been working well, and you can be sure that Robert Winston will be out to impress. Blythe Knight should be plenty fit enough after his runs in the Winter Derby and Magnolia Stakes, while of the low-drawn contenders, Divine Gift goes well fresh, and Resplendent One has the assistance of Kieren Fallon. Vortex is rated Group class by his trainer and even though he is in stall four, may reach the frame. However, he has it to do at the weights with the selection on last year's Ascot running, and a bigger danger may well be Blue Spinnaker who was seventh last year. He has risen up the weights after some solid efforts, including a seventh in the Cambridgeshire, but is sure to have been well tuned up by his astute handler. Class may tell here though, and New Seeker has enough to land the spoils.
