    Verdict

JOHN FORBES may prove to be the safest option in this contest where we'll be keeping an eye on No Wonga in the market whilst Ballade De La Mer may be able to keep up her recent good work. Brian Ellison's experienced dual purpose campaigner comes into the race on the back of a good run just three days ago which saw him finish a close second to Terenzium. Testing ground is ideal for him and he's on a winning mark so has plenty in his favour. No Wonga lacks a run but is lightly raced and has the scope for further improvement; he's run well on soft ground and shapes as though he'll stay this far despite a speedy pedigree. Ballade De La Mer is another with plenty of pace in her pedigree but not on the track and she has shown improved form, albeit at a modest level, since being stepped up in trip. There may be more to come and she has an each-way chance. Prince Rhyddarch was an impressive winner on heavy ground in October and is now just a pound higher so has to rate highly whilst Dazzling Begum has some soft ground form to her name and is in decent heart at present. A tricky affair but John Forbes may come up trumps.
