Verdict
GHOSTWING will have learned plenty when chasing home the impressive Mister Manannan at Pontefract in April and gets the nod here ahead of the interesting newcomer Benrish. Bryan Smart's Refuse To Bend colt Benrish would not be a shock winner. He cost 82,000 pounds as a foal is related to winners over 7f and beyond as juveniles, and with the yard in decent form he could well make his presence felt. Even so, we prefer the claims of Ghostwing. Richard Fahey has his string in tremendous nick and the Kheleyf colt has been given plenty of time to get over his debut exertions, which can pay dividends today as he can build on that placed effort. Sejanus may not have appreciated the soft ground on his Haydock debut and we could see a fair bit better from him this time, while Ask Frank is out of a dam who won over sprint trips at two and three, and Alan Swinbank's gelding would be interesting if supported. Ghostwing gets the vote.
