Another 6lb rise may not be enough to stop the progressive ALEATRICIS, while Dolly Penrose can complete the forecast. The John Quinn-trained gelding has been placed brilliantly to win six of his last nine starts, finishing runner-up on the other three occasions, seeing his handicap mark rise from 45 to 83 in the process. He was done no favours in running at Pontefract last time but still managed to win over that stiff 1m 4f, so the extra furlong today should be no issue and he can go in again. Dolly Penrose will get every yard of this, having already won over further. She will also relish the fast ground, but she looks to have a few pounds too many to shoulder. Gordonsville represents Jim Goldie and his runners always merit a market check here. This six-year-old is exposed but should remain competitive from this mark. Faasel has made his name as a classy, if temperamental, hurdler and chaser. If he could transfer that ability to the flat then he would look well in here, but he failed to cover himself in glory last time and is opposed. Lochiel and Double Banded both need a drop in the weights and Aleatricis can score.
