SAN SILVESTRO can win a poor finale, and carries our support in preference to Island Music and Willyn. Ann Duffield's gelding stepped up in trip to win last time out after being second over seven furlongs, and the way he finished then suggests the extra distance here won't be a problem. Both of those were sellers, and he's previously been disappointing in handicaps, but the cheekpieces may have helped bring about improvement and they stay on. Island Music avoids top weight status with Jamie Kyne on-board claiming five. Her best run for a while last time out came at Newcastle over this trip, and a repeat may be enough to win it. She's not won for more than a year though. Willyn is off a fair mark, but hasn't won for a long while, although any Jim Goldie runner here deserves respect, any he's done well here over this trip before. It's not a race to go lumping on anything, but we think it could go the way of San Silvestro.
