Nonrunner
It's hard to oppose Mark Johnston's runners at the moment, and he could go for the one-two here with our selection CRIME WRITER and Tahayab, but Liberty Trail could be the one to spoil it for him. Crime Writer looks the pick of the stable-mates; third and second in two runs to date, he's on an upwards curve and a repeat of that recent effort could be enough. Tahayab was a costly purchase a couple of years ago, and gained useful experience from an unspectacular debut. However, a poor draw could cost her here. Liberty Trail is the highest rated of those with a mark, and has a couple of runners-up spots to his name from five outings. The cheekpieces didn't help last time out and they come off. If you're going to forgive a horse one bad run, then that was it, as he'd looked to be an improver. Of the newcomers, Lady Bluesky looks the most interesting, having previously won one and been placed three times in four bumper races. Market support would be encouraging, likewise for any of the newcomers, but we'll side with Crime Writer.
