Hawkit is better than he showed at Hamilton last time and Peter Monteith's gelding has to be respected in this moderate contest but this looks little more than a match between SHE'S OUR LASS and Resonate, with preference for the former. The selection was good value for her win in a handicap on heavy ground at Beverley and Kevin Ryan's mare has an obvious chance on similarly testing ground today in a race as weak as this. Linda Perratt's Ulysees has run well in each of his last two starts but faces no easy task at the weights, while market support for Our Blessing would be of interest but this is the first time that he has raced on ground this testing and he is far from certain to handle it. Tony Newcombe's Resonate should have no problems with the underfoot conditions and the 10-year-old has every chance of winning his first race for over two years but it is hard to get away from She's Our Lass, who gets the vote.
