ALWAARY is selected ahead of Cloudy Start and Worth A King's. John Gosden's excellent track record with his juveniles, coupled with the yard's good form is a factor in siding with the son of Dynaformer who shaped pleasingly on debut at Kempton. He is a big colt who looked in need of the experience that day and wasn't given too hard a time of things behind an impressive winner. He'll know more now and may be able to justify his trio of autumnal Group race entries. Cloudy Start shaped with similar promise in a warm Newmarket maiden and may well have opened his account at Goodwood but for meeting trouble in running. His form stacks up but he lacks any big race entries and his trainer's juveniles have a surprisingly poor record here. Omokoroa and Too Tall have shown ability, Tilos Gem may prove capable of better whilst Proper Holiday and Shaker John should be monitored in the market. Worth A King's was a well backed but ultimately disappointing favourite on his return from a break last time when producing no more than a fair effort at Great Leighs. He took a while to get going but did finish to some effect and should have more to offer but so should the selection and Alwaary is preferred.
