KOSSACK can lead his rivals a merry dance here and come home in front of Harry Tricker and Crete. The handicapper's reaction to the selection's facile success in a Ripon maiden when long odds-on was far from harsh and Kossack can take advantage by scoring on his handicap bow. He caught the eye more than once in maidens prior to that and should relish this further step up in trip. Colloquial is a grand sort but vulnerable to improvers and one that may well prove capable of better is Harry Tricker. He is having his first run on the level for this yard following a successful season over hurdles and could well be an improved performer; market support would offer encouragement to his supporters. Double Banded and Rajeh are worthy of mention but Crete completes our triumvirate despite having finished over three lengths adrift of Jagger last time. The race was run to suit the winner that day and Crete has a handy swing in the weights in his favour today as well. He showed a smart turn of foot to win at Sandown earlier in the year and could go well but the claims of Kossack are preferred.
