Mobane Flyer deserves to win a race of this nature after a string of respectable efforts but keeps creeping up in the weights and a better bet looks to be Charlie Tango, who is preferred to Ermine Grey. The selection made a winning return when landing a strongly run seller at Redcar last month and the handicapper has left Nigel Tinkler's gelding unchanged on a mark of 58 so he holds solid claims on that evidence. Ian Semple's Sarraaf has been a consistent performer this term but would probably want a faster surface, while the Michael Dods-trained Commitment Lecture disappointed at Hamilton last time and is probably best watched at present. The booking of Seb Sanders for Jim Goldie's Regent's Secret takes the eye, while Showtime Annie has been given a chance by the handicapper and has claims under her lightweight. Ermine Grey made a highly satisfactory return to turf when fourth in a better race than this at Doncaster last time and has chances on that form but would probably want a faster surface. Mobane Flyer obviously warrants respect but Charlie Tango looked an improved performer at Redcar and is taken to follow up.
