Moonlight Man looks to be coming into a bit of form and has slipped to a fair mark so has to be respected but Purus was good value for his nine length success at Brighton last month and is taken to defy a 9lb rise in the weights for that success so gets the vote to follow up at the main expense of Skyelady. The last mentioned has, like the selection, won her last two starts, latterly when landing a soft-ground handicap at Thirsk but a 6lb rise for that looks harsh so she may have to settle for minor honours. Venir Rouge ran better at Chepstow last time and may do better still over this furlong shorter trip so makes more appeal than Cross The Line, who could do with some help from the handicapper. Harare would have claims if handling the underfoot conditions but a safer bet looks to be Purus, who gets the vote.
