Verdict

A tricky start to the day's proceedings despite the small field with the winner likely to come from the trio of Menokee, Fantastic View and Elshadi, with preference for the last mentioned. The selection has done nothing wrong so far, making a winning debut in a Beverley maiden before going on to make all in a conditions race at Newbury last time. Still open to plenty of improvement and with the stable of Marcus Tregoning continuing in such great form, Elshadi gets the vote. Sir Michael Stoute's Kempton maiden winner Menokee represents the main danger but the second there let the form down when only third in a York nursery on Thursday. Fantastic View has a penalty to carry for his Listed Race win at Goodwood last time and may struggle to concede weight away all round. Temple Place has more on his plate than when winning at Windsor last month and may find the opposition too tough, while the maiden Flamjica looks out of her depth. Elshadi is taken to maintain his unbeaten record.
