Verdict

Sioux Rising is respected but she could struggle to take the scalps of Espiritu and SECRET SOCIETY. Just the 10 runners but a strong field nevertheless with the second, fourth, eighth, thirteenth and seventeenth from the Britannia re-opposing. Secret Society came out on top that day and is taken to do so again with the shorter trip possibly seeing him to better effect. She meets Espiritu on the same terms and there's clearly little between the pair that were only separated by a short-head at the Royal meeting. Jamie Spencer should be able to track the principals before unleashing his colt whose turn of foot could be a crucial weapon in this battle. Satwa Laird didn't see out the mile as well as that pair but the suspicion is that he doesn't have the same scope for improvement as Espiritu (who has found an extra gear for blinkers) or the selection. More use was made of Suruor than when he'd won his previous two starts so a return to more patient tactics could see him produce a better performance. Invisible Man may also have paid the price for chasing the pace. Khor Dubai and Feeling Fab are slipping in the weights, cheekpieces may help Agente Parmigiano but the shorter trip is far from certain to help Captain Ellis. Sioux Rising is progressing nicely and could come on again for the longer trip on just her fourth start but this is significantly tougher than the races she's been winning at Pontefract and we prefer to side with the proven handicap and track form of Secret Society.
