CELTIC STEP could be the answer to a tricky puzzle with Frankie Dettori booked for the ride for the first time; Glenridding, Maxwell Hawke and Convince may be the biggest dangers. The selection can carry his head high and may not be the most straight-forward, however he ran a decent race in defeat at Ripon last time, acts on any surface and looks well drawn for an attacking ride. His jockey is one of the best pace-setters in the world and the Selkirk gelding can add just his 3rd career win. Zomerlust is a course winner and has been shaping well of late, showing more relish for his racing, whilst Malcheek looks like he may be well-handicapped now (rated 75, has won off 72) but the yard are very hard to predict. Summer Dancer and Bold Marc have been holding their form well and should give a bold showing, along with Silver Wind who might be suited by the return to this trip. Glenridding is likely to help force the pace; James Given's gelding has JP Guillambert back on board (unbeaten in two rides) and he has a chance, despite this tough mark of 74 following that successful spell. Mesbaah is dangerously well-handicapped, whilst any rain would probably suit Doric Echo and Salerosa. The consistent Convince must be considered a threat having been in good form in lesser races, however in a tough 'getting-out' stakes, it is Celtic Step that is narrowly preferred.
