chased leaders, every chance 2f out, weakened final furlong
led early, pressed leader, edged right 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
tracked leaders, not much room 2f out, pulled out, led over 1f out, quicken clear, ran on strongly
always in rear, well behind final 2f
raced keenly, in touch, lost place over 3f out, behind 2f out, eased
half reared start, ran green, mid-division, stayed on from over 1f out, nearest finish
held up, effort over 2f out, beaten over 1f out
dwelt, soon recovered to lead, headed over 1f out, soon edged left and not pace of winner
Key Art may see his form franked by Dancing Freddy in the opening nursery, however we will plump for LOVEINTHESAND although the newcomers Rodrigo De Torres and Coronaria join L'Enchanteresse on the list of dangers. Mark Johnston's son of Footstepsinthesand was well-fancied for a small-field maiden at Hamilton in June. However he bumped into a smart sort in Leviathon and looked as if he would learn plenty from the race. His trainer sends some of his best juveniles up to Hamilton so that might point to this colt being held in high regard and he might be worth chancing. William Morgan had no chance against Chaperno here last time but looks likely to struggle again, whilst Woodface looks the type to progress more when entering nursery handicaps. Emerald Glade is related to a couple of smart sprinters although her pedigree seems to suggest that she herself will need more time and a longer trip, so a bigger threat should be L'Enchanteresse who shaped with lots of promise on her debut at Newmarket and should relish any rain that falls; she looks a winner waiting to happen. Coronaria represents William Haggas who has his horses in good form; this Cheveley Park Stud filly needs a market check with her trainer only sending a single two-year-old here in recent years. Frankie Dettori has a 30% strike-rate (8 out of 27) on Jeremy Noseda's juveniles in recent seasons so Key Art looks a player following two promising runs, whilst Rodrigo De Torres is bred to be fairly speedy. An open heat, where the betting should help, however it is Loveinthesand who gets our vote.
