Border Artist gets a tentative vote over the likes of Effective and Tancred Times in the claimer. Dandy Nicholls has two runners, with Pays d'Amour joining Border Artist in the line-up but on overall form, it is the latter that can pay to support. The son of Selkirk has belied his breeding to score many times on fast ground, most recently when winning a class E handicap at Musselburgh in May for the second time. He has since gone back up the handicap though and is starting to struggle, so the drop into claiming company may prove the answer here. On a line through Smith N Allan Oils, Effective looks held by the selection, and a bigger danger may be Tancred Times, a prolific winner during her career. She has suddenly found her form again and should get a good ride from Francis Norton. We shall stick with Border Artist though to prove up to the task.
