Mimi Mouse would be a popular winner for the locals and gets the vote over Nova Tor, African Breeze and Wonderful Mind. The latter gives Tim Easterby a particularly strong hand as he also saddles the selection Mimi Mouse who proved that the penny had dropped when opening her account at Pontefract in June, getting up in the final strides to beat Tagula Sunrise. Kevin Darley reported that she felt the fast ground so hopefully it will not dry out too much before her follow-up bid. Nova Tor has already been successful three times and makes a quick reappearance after finishing fifth to The Crooked Ring in a decent affair at Ayr on Monday. She should run well again, and African Breeze has been keeping fairly useful company. Her trainer reckons that she will be capable at a higher level next year. Wonderful Mind will relish fast ground, having not lasted home under easier conditions here a fortnight ago. An interesting nursery in which Mimi Mouse has more than a fair chance.
