    Verdict

Chronomatic's course form is enough to recommend him ahead of Cape Gold. Not beaten far by the well-regarded Romantic Evening, Chronomatic confirmed the favourable impression of his debut effort in a Newmarket contest. Cape Gold holds an entry in the Derby so may find this on the sharp side if such lofty ambition is to be pursued. He ran a solid race at Newcastle to chase Crime Scene to half-a-length but he looks to be up against a better rival on this occasion. Zaal ran fifth in a Windsor maiden to Art Market. The first and fourth have won since although the second was a little disappointing. The market is watched with regard to Royal Composer while Quaker Boy and Tora Petcha would need to step up markedly on all racecourse evidence. Chronomatic should be too good for these and we will not oppose.
