MISTER MANANNAN stands out on his latest second to Monsieur Chevalier and he is taken to see off a strong challenge from the little battler Singeur. With good early pace, the feeling is that the selection could be hard to peg back from the front. He is likely to need a sixth furlong in time but a repeat of his last run may be enough to seal victory. The Ger Lyons-trained Love Lockdown was put in his place by Alfred Nobel when last seen at the Curragh but he is better than that and this Listed winner is a player for a yard that don't travel to York too often. Singeur is not the biggest but he is a real battler and his lion heart will see him run another big race here as he steps up in class, whilst Star Rover and Archers Road have locked horns often and they have had a busy season but continue to thrive. Nosedive has been outclassed since his maiden win but he should find this race slightly easier, Bould Mover will appreciate the drop in trip, whilst Farmer Giles hasn't shown enough to warrant this step up in class. This looks a good opportunity for Mister Manannan to get a deserved win.
