In depth

Verdict

Promising Lead left a big impression after winning what looked to be a throughly decent maiden at Newbury on debut and with improvement to come we take her to follow up, with Silver Pivotal and Satulagi also looking strong candidates. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained selection was among three runners favoured by the market that day at Newbury and that trio pulled clear of the rest of a big field, strengthening our confidence here. She has plenty of scope to improve and we are convinced she can do that here. Silver Pivotal would probably prefer the ground to be no softer than good, and would have a better chance if it dried out even moreso. She battled on well when beaten last time and that can stand her in good stead here. Satulagi is another who would like quicker ground and after being slightly unlucky in the Guineas we don't really know whether she could have finished a bit closer to Finsceal Beo or not. Even so, she is respected. Russian Rosie is interesting now stepped up to a mile, while Graduation won a weak Warwick maiden last time and needs to find plenty to trouble our selection, Promising Lead.
