In a customary large field it may well pay to side with the proven Royal Ascot form and I¿m So Lucky is chosen to defy a five pound penalty with course scorer Blue Spinnaker, and the consistent Star Of Light likely to make him pull out the stops. Star Of Light won at Newmarket in May and although going up the ratings a s a consequence, he has run with great credit since, notably on his most recent start when finishing third in last weekend¿s Old Newton Cup. Provided that race has not left its mark he has a live chance. Blue Spinnaker scored over the course and distance two outings ago, before finishing in midfield in the Wolferton handicap at the Royal meeting. He meets I¿m So Lucky on five pound better terms and given his liking for the course he can get closer this time. Mark Johnston¿s yard has emerged from its poor start to the season and the consequence is a number of his runners are well handicapped. I¿m So Lucky left previous performances this season behind when scoring with something in hand at the Royal meeting and with only a five pound penalty to carry and two pounds well in, I'm So Lucky can score again.
