Backing a Dandy Nicholls outsider in the sprints here normally leaves you quid¿s in, however he only has one here in Van Bossed and he doesn't really strike a chord, so preference is for Ancien Regime ahead of Meydan Princess and Hamish McGonagall. The selection was considered good enough to have Group entries last season and connections obviously hold him in high regard. His recent win at HQ looks strong (the second that day, Carleton, reopposes today on 3lb better terms) and with the promise of more to come, he can defy a 8lb rise in the weights. Prohibit has claims but the blinkers only worked in moderation last time and he doesn't look the most straightforward, whilst Fathsta and Meydan Princess are closely matched on their recent York clash and both should run good races; the latter may appreciate this huge field as he travels well. Good Gorsoon looks the pick of the Hills pair, whilst horses such as Dohasa, Vhujon and Baldemar all add to the competitive nature of this race. Hamish McGonagall landed a touch last time and whilst this is tougher, he is one to watch in the betting however we will return to Ancien Regime as the nomination.
