Dangerous Midge is 11lb higher in a better race so is passed over here in favour of THIN RED LINE who represents a wildly in-form yard and can see off a dangerous-looking trio of Cool Strike, Antigua Sunrise and Class Is Class. Michael Dods' gelding won on his first start for the yard at Chester last week and is quickly turned out under his penalty. The yard has already had success at the track this week and this Red Ransom gelding still has more improvement to come. Crackentorp's reappearance needs improving on, Lochiel is not straight-forward but he looked progressive on quick ground last season, whilst Shadows Lengthen won six on the trot at Southwell over the winter but now looks too high in the weights as a result. Siberian Tiger needs a market check after a great second to Ashkazar in a Sandown Listed hurdle race, Class Is Class tries a visor after dodging the issue recently, whilst Dangerous Midge has won three of his last four starts and although not necessarily bred for this trip he shapes as if it will suit. Dansili Dancer and Drill Sergeant both drop in grade, Cool Strike is consistent but as a result is arguably too high in the handicap, whilst Antigua Sunrise beat Dazzling Light at Pontefract last time out and the form looks solid so each is afforded respect off their light weights. As competitive a handicap as you're likely to find but we are happy to side with Thin Red Line.
